megashifter
i have a 700r4 how hard will it be for me to put a megashifter in my car i do not now much about trans all i now is how to change the fluid in it thats all.

IIRC, it took me all of three hours to install mine. I recommend reading up on it first. There was a good post I read before I did mine. Just do a search for it. It wasn't too difficult and I'm sure I took my time and had a few beers along the way... Well worth it though.

Installing it on a formula will be a little tougher, since it really wasn't designed for that style of trim plate. It's still possible though, just becareful on cuts and clearance.

I put one in my car with a custom install, because I just have to be a little different. I didn't use their cable, mounts, trim plate, or boot. I used the GM cable, mounted the shifter to the floor, and made my own leather boot. Total install time for me was around 8-10 hours for a custom job.

it sounds like to much trouble to put on a 87 formula i will pass. one of my goal has been broken.

I'd look into it some more. It seems like they changed the console design in 88 (at least according to other posts), so you might still be ok. Lots of members like the Promatic shifter as it offers better feeling shifts. Course that's a custom install too.

well it might me alittle easier because i do not have power windows right? I really love that shifter
