Which Stall Speed..2400, 2600, 2800??
I have an 89 GTA that i am going to be building up. It will have a 400 HP 350 c.i. using the LT-4 Hotcam, TFS Heads, SuperRam, 9.8:1 compression.............Plus i am building a 700-R4 that will be able to handle whatever i throw at it.
Besides that the rear end is a 3.27 posi which i may be changing to 3.73 in the near future. I will have plenty of traction with Nitto Drag Radials in the rear with 305 tread width. So what stall speed should i run. I want to be able to still cruise down the interstate and drive around. But i also want the car to launch awesome. It will be a lock-up converter, so interstate cruising should be no problem which ever stall speed i choose.

where does the cam start to make power? i dont know the specs on the lt4 cam but i would run as much stall as possible myself. if you depend on this car everday for getting to work etc then i would stay under 3000 stall, maybe somehweres around 2300-2500 for a daily driver.

It won't be a daily driver, more of a weekend warrior. I think the powerband of my engine will be 3000 to 6000 rpms. But should make decent power from 2500 to 6500 rpms.

go at least 3000 with that setup. I've got a 3200 vigilante in my car and it is perfectly driveable. You don't really know it's there until you stand on the throttle.

for that i would go 3000 stall...... with lockup it will be fine for daily driving, like it was stock. LOL
on hills and under lock up speed which for me is 38mph, you'll be doing some rpms but only if you have to go less than 38mph. and if the hill is not too long, no harm done. LOL
i got 2800 stall on my stock L98 and its awesome! with traction the car gets up nicely! i'm running 3.27's now and it was fun with the old 2.77's let alone the 3.27's.
superram will bring your tq peak up over a TPI LTR setup. so 2800-3000 stall would be perfect!

Yeah I say 3000 too.
The guys at Midwest suggested 3000 for my ZZ4 engine, which is probaly less power than your setup (my cam is definitely tamer than a LT4 cam).
Anyway I have 3.73s and the car drives real nice around town With 3.23s it was a little mushy though. I'd say change over to 3.73 right away if you do the 3000.
