T-5 Clutch Question

I've been searching the boards for about an hour now, and havent found the answer to my question, so im going to post it. feel free to reply with a link to a thread that answers my questions, but in my search i couldnt find one.

i just baught another 87 z28. 355/T-5. the car sat for about a year before i baught it, and theres a bunch of little stuff that needs to be done to pass inspection, lights, ball joints, that kind of stuff. one of my major concerns is the clutch.

when i get in to crank her over, i have to pump the clutch 4 or 5 times to get pressure, and have it disengage. once im in first, and i start driving, it shifts fine into the other gears. from the research ive done into this, it sounds like i have air in the lines. i'm not sure if this is the correct diagnosis of this problem or not, so im putting it out there to you guys. does this sound right? as far as i know the clutch is original. the car is currently at the shop getting the front lower ball joints, and some rear brake work done. when i can get her home, im going to try to bleed the hydrolics, and see if that works.

any help is appreciated, just give me something to point me in the right direction, and like i said, if there has already been a post about this, let me know, ive searched for an hour and couldnt find the answer to this.

Yes it's a hydro. problem. Either you have air in the lines, which is a very common problem, or a seal is going bad in the slave cylinder or master cylinder.

screw GM, get a new slave and master cylinder from a parts store. Autozone has the Brakebest line which is metal cylinders for both whereas the GM ones are plastic, plus you'll get a warranty.

ditto, GM can top me off and I still wouldn't buy parts from them.
