t-56 clutch question

t-56 clutch question

I did a search and couldnt find anything i know this topic has been covered but im getting ready to put my t-56 in the moter is just a 350 2 piece rear main seal what do i need to get to still use the clutch flywheel on the lt1 when i put that in. whats different is it the flywheel or the clutch.? thanks chris

Axle/Gears: 3.42 7.62" 10-bolt, locker
the difference is gonna be the flywheel. 2- piece RMS flywheels have a much larger center bolt pattern to the engine than a 1-piece RMS (about 3/8" diameter differece). but this is just the hole in the middle. the clutch and everything else will bolt right up to either flywheel, as long as they have the same number of teeth.

thank you thats what i thought so i just need an lt1 clutch and it will work on either flywheel what is the tooth number on the flywheel i need i think its what 153 or 164 or something. thanks chris

The LT 1 flywheel is completely different. I'm not sure if anyone makes one for a two piece crank.

i know they do or how could people use the old 2 piece rear main seals theve been installed in some old cars,they only other way would to be to change the bellhousing and clutch setup and i dont see why you would bother

now i gotta 2 decide i really dont want to buy two flywheels dangit.
