How fast was I going officer? really?!?!?

haha, hasn't happened yet, but it will if I don't figure this out soon.

Just bought the car, 87 camaro that was originally a 2.8l V6 (I'm pretty sure it was an automatic)

well, a 350 with a TH350 tranny resides in there now... my problem is, my speedo is waaaaay off. (actually, it seems to be about 7 to 10 mph OVER, which is good in a sense)

Anybody have any advice/links on how to correct this? the engine swap was pretty half @$$ed, so it doesn't suprise me that the speedo is incorrect (next up - tach that spins in the wrong direction - will tackle that once I have the speedo working right)

Heres a chart I found on tci trans site http://www.tciauto.com/components/speedometer_gears.htm Also can probably go to you dealer and get some help...Gears are all by tires size, transmission, and rear gear ratio. Just have to pick older car with th350 to look up parts for. I do remember from days as a GM parts guy that the driven gear (one the speed cable hooks to) are about 3 mph per teeth. just cant remember which way. I would see what gears are in there and go from there. might be able to just change one gear...hope this helps

There is a calculator on the main page that will help you figure out most math data delated to drivetrains. You just need to know RPM, tire size, rear gear ratio, and tranny gears.
