Swapping t-56 for t-5
I'm thinking of swapping my tremec t-56 out for a g-force t-5. Any opinions? I'm kinda conflicted about it.
If I take the t-56 out I will be selling my t-56 swap set up:
Spohn torque arm and crossmember
Spohn driveshaft
and 5-56 trans w/ adaptor plate and shifter
anyone interested?

Why would you go from a T56 to a T5? That is like going from Pamela Anderson to Rosie O'donnel. The T56 is superior in everyway.
EDIT: You said G-force and not WC. I am sorry. None the less I would stick with the T56. You can run steeper gears with the crutch of the second OD to maintain some fuel mileage. Even the weekest of T56's were rated at 400 to 450lbs+ TQ of abuse. I would keep what you have.

The LT1 F-body T56s were rated at 450 lbs/ft., except some '93 versions with a very tall 1st gear which only got a 350 lbs/ft. rating.
The G-Force T5 is rated to 600 lbs/ft. and 500 hp. It's a stronger trans.
The 6th gear in the T56 is a gas milage gear only used on the highway. Trust me, it isn't that useful. At 80MPH with 3.73 gears my car turns 1,900 RPM. At lower speeds you are just lugging the engine and beating the bearings to death. Typically I only use 1-5 when cruising around.
For performance the G-Force T-5 is a better trans. For all around cool factor and slightly better milage the T56 wins. It just depends on what you want. I will say this for the T56: when people look into my car they always exclaim "Oh cool, it's a stick!" Then I say, "Yeah, check out the shifter". They notice the pattern and say "Is that right? It's a 6-SPEED?!" Then I just say "Yup. T56." They just stare mouth agape.
I wouldn't mind taking the Spohn stuff off your hands. Let me know what you'd want for it. BTW, I assume you have an aftermarket T56 since you mentioned an adapter plate. Is that correct? I'm running an LT1 T56, and I think the parts may be different.

Don't forget about the weight difference about 40-50 Ibs plus I think the gearing is better for TPI equiped car.

From Cleveland Ohio - if you want a reasonable price for the setup, let me know, I'll drive to pick it up (half way would be great, but either way would work if what's the only way it would work.)
