kickdown cable problems
i have an 83 z28 with the 4-speed auto. my car went an engine fire years ago hence the deal i got on it. ive swapped it all out under the hood however the plastic end of my kickdown cable is still melted. is there an easy way to either change a kick down cable or put a new end on mine????

a new cable is $30 www.7004r.com Make sure you get the correct one... they are actually different depending on what is goes on.. the carb one is the shortes, thaan tbi, then tpi is the longer on.. i found that ou on my 83. took a tranny from an 88 and put it in to find out the cable was to long (the 88 donor car was a tbi). and 30$ to get the right cable and have ot work right is a good investment since not having one means burning up the trans again a little later.
