shifting problem question

my car will not shift out of first gear at wot. this is a 700r4 with a couple thousand miles on it, new valve body, transgo shift kit. my question is could it by my rebuilt 2600 stall that is the problem? if its f'd up would it keep my tranny from shifting?

no, the converter won't do that---there's something wrong with the TV valve or the shift valve or the seperator plate. (or maybe the governor, but probably not)
get with whoever put the valve body on it and find the right one WITH THE RIGHT SEPERATOR PLATE, there are 3 different setups and about 6 different plates, it is important to get the right ones.

what was wrong with your old valve body?
I would suggest you use it and the plate that went with it, put the shift kit in it.

or do what I do, drill the plate like in the B&M shift kit, eliminate the travel in both accumulators (remove springs, install spacers) and let it fly. works awesome.
