1 rear wheel drive rear end...

Ok, i know its embarassing but we put a rear end on and it only drive off of 1 rear wheel but its supposedly more gas efficent. The car is still fast as hell and has an after market 350 in it but i was wondering if swapped to a 3.73 rear, what kinda performance improvements would i see? Would my 0-60 and 1/4 be a little faster and would i burn a lot more gas or just a little bit? The car is probaly pushing around 290 - 300 horse w/ 340 torque but thats just an estimate but i can do one hell of a burn out w/ only one wheel any info would be appreciated, thanks

What gears do you have now . 342-373 was a noticable differance to me . Any bigger seperation would be a real big improvement . A posi rear would help your 60 foot times and makes for a much better smoke show .

Without a LSD you would more than likely slow down due to more torque multiplication and the same amount of traction.

I was thinking the same, you'll lose traction and won't accelerate as fast. You're going to want to put in a posi with 3.73, otherwise it'll be just for burn outs mostly.

yeah it kinda sux that the rs's came w/ the non posi rear. im definately going to go 3.73 tho very soon. a 4.10 would be nice but they arent really good for a daily driver...

They a rite about the traction , but I would hope that if you went though the trouble to change the rind&pinion gear you would put a posi carrier in too . The 411 gear has a smaller pinion gear and you will loose strength , due to it wanting to walk up the ring . Thats if you get traction . 373 is about it for the 7.5 ring .
