Axle interchange?
Will the axles from a 91 Camaro open traction 2.73 go into a IROC 3.23 posi-trac rear end? And if so, how hard is it? Thanks.

Axles don't care what the gear ratio is. The 91 will have 28 spline axles. They will fit into any other 28 spline carrier. 82-89 third gens came with 26 spline axles. 90-92 have 28 spline. Fourth gen are 28 spline but the axles are 2 inches longer and won't fit into a third gen housing.
10 bolt diff axles will not interchange with 9 bolt differentials.

actually, 89 was a transition year for the spline count... 26 early in the year, 28 later on in the year

Ok, thanks. I hope it is a late 89 or 90 IROC. I doubt it though. I'm not that lucky. Thanks again.
