how wide are corvette rears and how intensive do you think it would be to fab one up to a 3rdgen... 4 wheel independant suspension.... never really heard of it done before, must be hard, impossible or not worth it or im sure someone would have done it... just wonderin, gathering thoughts... if its at ALL possible, i might just attempt it...

yeah, that was the problem i was worried about... too bad weight is an issue cuz these things are heavy enough, or id just weld up an addition to the frame that held it where it needs to be... but that would be heavy as hell. hmmm... im really interested in lookin into it... maybe if i win the lotto, ill do it... and then hope i dont have to drop the tank any time forever...

Actually fooled around with it a few years back.

MEasuring it, it was damned close to fitting right in making brackets and the like of course.

Main problem is what to do with the spring since the vettes use the one mono spring in the rear on c4's.

I started fooling with this after I had found out GM basically prototyped a c4 IRS bolt in kit for thirdgens.

Dimnesionally they had it easy as they line up quite nicely in our cars. There problem was also the spring setup.

It has been done, also believe there are a few vette IRS cars on this forum, at least there were a few years ago.

later
Jeremy

Axle/Gears: 3.27, I think
If the gas tank is a problem then put it in the trunk by using a fuel cell just a suggestion. That's what Monster Garage would do.
