how to tell v6 700r4 from v8 700r4

so im still on the search for a rebuildable tranny for school, and i might have found one, but id like to be sure its from a v8 rather than a v6. Any codes or specifics that make them easy to spot.

Pictures of the differences would make this alot easier on me. thanks.

sorry, i'm having some problems with te v-6 pic. i have to make it smaller. says it is to big of a pic. the bell on a v-6 is more square. i'm trying to get the pic posted.

yeah, but it was the only one i could find. it shows the top were the difference really shows up. the v-6 will be flat on top were the v-8 will haev a "v" shape to it.

so theyre the v6 is basically the same but its flat instead of having the tip of the "v".

kind of. the link i left in my previous post shows the two very well. all you have to do is scroll down the page a little bit. the site wouldn't let me copy them. on the page, the v6 is on the left while the v8 is on the right.
