i have been having a vibration issue ever since i bought my car. the car seems to vibrate at high speeds no speedometer but i would say 60 70 mph.

now since i bought the car the motor has been changed all rear suspension has been changed except torque arm and driveshaft.
but i did swap in another stock driveshaft if that matters. new rear end went in,driveshaft loop went in, poly trans mount, new front ball joints,lower control arms. tires and rims and got an alighnment.

note it has ben vibrating even before i changed everything so i know it's nothing i put in.

and besides the whole car vibrating i can feel it through my shifter and it seems to vibrate more when i let my foot off the gas for a bit.

any ideas?????????????????

 

Undo the driveshaft from the rear axle. Spin it half a turn and bolt it back in, see if that helps, or makes the vibration worse.

yeah i will give that try at this point i will try anythning lol

i wish i can explain it better if im cruiseing i can start to hear it sort of like a wa wa wa wa wa wa and lets say i give it more gas to pass it will get faster. so it's obviously something spinning.

 

Sharing some info on bad vibes

I have the same vibrations up threw the shifter also.
Its shaking the driveshaft at the ujoints.

Turns out its coming from the rear end.
I have posted on this board about my progress, which
at this point I have narrowed down to either axle bearings,
bent rim, or spider gears.. the rear end is about only
main component that hasnt been change or rebuilt.

A friend from work was following me one day and told me
my right tire which is the power one legger had a wobble.
2.73 open.

Since then I havent driven the car but have taken both axles
out and switched them to see if its a bent axle. Not a bent axle.

Bent Rim?
spider gear with the splines I think they ride on bearings?
Not sure if thats called case bearing?

 

i've had the vibration when i first bought the car changed a bunch of stuff including the rear and no change. but anything is possible

 

Same thing here when got the car it had that knock on and off
around the shifter.
The previous owner said it was the speedo cable
that was broken. There wasnt even a drive gear on
the tailshaft..

I just thought it would be a cool car to mess around with,
gonna put antique insurance on it in a few months.
Hopefully before it gets cold ill be able to fix the rear end
or get another used one...
