TV cable adjusted, now tranny is still weird

My camaro would bog at 40 mph and stay at 1000 rpms. I was told the it was the TV cable in a previous post but it still acts the same way. I had the TV cable "adjusted" but now it still bog and stay stuck. when i tap the pedel it'll bog. If i put the pedel down 1/2 way it'll drop gear speed up shift back into 4th and bog. at 50mph if i let my foot of the gas it jerks. I know it needs a tune up badly and that'll be done tomorrow or this weekend. What do you think this it is? I need this fixed ASAP and any input would be much appreciated.
