for the whole rear end or just the posi/gears?

whole axle $200
posi gears $50-100

Those are just some averages from junkyards around here.

EDIT: just noticed you said with rims. probably a little more with the tires. how much? i don't know, really depends on the place you are buying the stuff from.

Nope, a one wheel peel is done on an open rear end or "unlimited slip". LSD is the same as posi

Cheektowaga. I see you on UBRF. Anyway limited slip is posi. A one tire fire is an open diff.

I would say your friends are Dumber. Help them out and explain it to them. Posi is a slang term for a Limited Slip rear. It was Chevolets trade name POSITRACTION for a Limited Slip RPO G80 and is no longer used by GM.

So the total cost for LS to POSI is $0

Like the guys said, a non-posi is an "open rear". Share that info with your friends too!

I think since his friends told him that an open dif was LS.. his next question will be "How much does it cost to go from an Open rear to a Limited Slip rear" Which i think was the original question he was trying to make, he was just a little confused at the start
