TCI or B&M converter
Hey ya'll,
wanna buy me a new converter within the next weeks.
But I'm not sure, which one.
One of the TCI saturday Night Special series, or a B&M holeshot?
Any experiences, opinions about that?

I know that TCI's are high quality from what I have heard. On the other hand Iv'e heard that B&M's aren't, this isn't from experience, just from what Iv'e noticed/heard. Hope that helps.

Just something to think about. Sorry if you were likin' the B&M and I ruined your decision.

Please don't by b&m if you dont want to pull the trans again. Maybe the more expensive ones are better but i'm now afraid to try another one of their converters. Lasted two times around my block on a 305 with exhaust. It's a shame. I'll update if i get a new converter in soon. Another summer put to waste. Darrell

Thx for your answers, helped me a lot.
I was tending to the TCI, but wasn't complety sure, 'cause the price. The last year a lot of money went into that car
. So now I wanna drop it a little bit with the money-spending-thing...
But the fact that I'm very lazy and hate it to do things twice, I think I better pay more and do it just ONE time.

Search for a Daaco brand convertor. If you can find one, they are the company that makes convertors for TCI,10" and larger.I know it sounds like
,but my best friend is a tranny builder, his father owns the largest tranny shop in SW Missouri actually, and he showed me the 2,TCI and Daaco side by side, and they are identical.
I've ran their 10" convertor in both my car,(I have one in it now)and in the truck I used to mudrace, without a single problem.(my mudracer was a 5500lb. truck on 40" tires with an alchohol burning,250hp sprayed 468 BB,making 600hp or better without spray).
Ive never hunted for them on the net,but I know their mostly available from tranny rebuilders. If you can't find one,or have any questions, call Ace Transmission in Springfield,Mo. at 417-831-9390,and ask for Darrel.
