Poly Transmission Mount Problem
I just bought a poly transmission mount from a guy on third gen. It was on his TH350 and he said it should fit my T-5. I think it should, but for some reason it doesn't line up right. It looks like the holes are in the same spots as my stock mount, but when I get it all one, the last bolt that bolts the cross member to the tranny mount doesn't line up. It just won't no matter what. Is there any reason for this? Any suggestions what to do?
Thanks guys!!!

It's possible that you installed it backwards. I believe it is suppose to be installed with the rounded side towards the rear of the car. I have one on my '82 (4 spd to 5 spd conversion, same mount) and a '95 T/A M6. They are both set up the same. I think it helps to bolt the crossmember to the mount first then the x-member to frame. That's how I did it and was not much of a problem. Helps to have the instructions but I do see that you bought it used so they were probably not available. All holes are slotted to allow some adjustability. Also some people had to enlarge the slot where the trans mount bolts to the x-member to allow for the provided SAE bolt. Hope it helps, good luck.

Would it be better to enlarge the slot where the mount bolts to the tranny or enlarge the slot on the x memeber? Mine isn't lining up left to right. It is about 1/8 of an in off. I was thinking if I enlarged the slots on the mount itself, it should slide enough over to fit well. Does that sound right? And would that harm the mount in anyway?

is it just not lining up where it bolts to the crossmember? Have you tried to pry over the trans to get it aligned? if you had it loose it probably moved....

Had the same problem, all it was, a little persuasion with a crow bar, and the tranny moved right into position. Am glad everything worked out for ya.
