Tranny's dead

Well I'm driving the Formula today and I go get gas and then I bring it back to the house. I leave it running and then I go to back it out of the drive and I have no movement. Now ever since I had the car it has always shifted a little hard from Park to Reverse, but I guess I just got used to it. Well anyways I pulled the transmission and believe me some of the bolts connecting to the motor especially the ones on the top were a pain in the butt to come loose. Well anyways I go to pull off the torque converter and will not come off. Now don't jump to conclusions I have rolled it around some and then pull and then roll some more and pull, but it will only come forward so far. Any suggestions from anyone? I have located a 700 R4 for $350, I really can't afford a rebuilt one otherwise I would just go that route.

The pump probably broke and is binding the converter hub. I would carefully pry it out and throw it away.
