rear end woes, round 2
well i just got my car back from the gear swap about 3 days ago. set me back almost 1200 bucks, had them hook my nitrous wiring back up, and find an oil leak for me, kind of got hosed.
anyway, the next day, im still hearing something that sounds like it did when the gears had come apart and i would just barely be moving. when i'd pick up speed after they'd shreded, it was really loud and horrible sounding, but at low speeds it just sounded like a sort of clunk, and you could just barely feel it on every wheel revolution. now im getting that again, but there doesnt seem to be any problem once im rolling. its just if im going like 5 mph i can hear it.
im praying its not my gears again, because if it is, the car sits all winter, i can't throw another 1000 bucks at it right now. could the bearings has been screwed up while they had the rear apart, or what else can make a sound like that? its not a loud clunk, you have to turn the stereo down and really listen for it. doesnt sound like anything broken, what it sounds like to me is what non-sealed bearings (like bike bearings) sound like when one of the bearings pops out. are the rear bearings easy to check
?
