tranny swap

ok before you guys get onto me about not searching for "how to's" on doing a swap, i'll just say that i found and READ the technical article on the main page about going from an auto to a manual transmission....the problem is, that most of the things stated i have no clue what they look like or anything....i was thinking about doing the swap but i am more of a VISUAL learner...anyone have any pictures of their swap in the making? i need as much help as i can get if i decide to do this...

I don't think anyone will ever be able to cover the complete process in a write-up. It seems like everyone encounters something new. It's probably best if you do some research about it. What I started with was just a crappy Haynes manual...it actually had lots of information about the stock T5 setup in the Camaro with a good deal of pictures as well. Another thing that helps is to start getting under the car...look for the various bits of wiring you'll need to modify, locate all the parts and bolts (the bellhousing bolts being nasty) you'll need to remove in order to accomplish the swap, etc. It's not exactly a straightforward thing, but it's not exactly difficult once you're familiar with the car. In my case, tearing every single nut and bolt from the car turned out to be very educational, and makes doing the swap to a T56 a cinch...I don't suggest you take it that far though There's also a great article about a T56 swap in the Chevy High Performance archives...check this out http://chevyhiperformance.com/techar...148_0502_swap/
