torque arms differ ?

Engine: 4.3L Z TBI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.08 7.625"
torque arms differ ?
i heard there may be a couple different torque arms in these cars ??
the 82 had a 4 speed originally and then up to recently a th350 longtail
now its getting a 3L80HD(heavy thm400/475 basically)
am i gonna have a problem with the TQ ?
the tailshaft housing on the 3L80HD bolts on 25" behind the front end of the tranny
i dont know if this is how all the thm400s are ?
i dont have a thm400 here to measure and check this with so that i know a thm400 B&M bracket will work

All I know of is the fact they have the lips facing either in or out, at the front, where it slides into the bracket on the trans. When I ordered my poly bushing, I had to go look on the car to see what one I had. I also converted from a stick, to an auto, and the two torque arm brackets will not interchange, at the trans tailshaft. HTH.

and after much consideration, i think im just gonna go with getting an aftermarket higher than stock stall converter for the THM350C trans i have and pop that in the car sinc eits already set up for(and was driving with)a longtail(9" tail) th350(700r4 length)
ill sell or trade off the thm475 trans probably, or put it in the 71 dually

it's a mild 350 runs aroiund mid 13's consistenly. I could get more out of it but it's just my daily driver, saving all the work for my new camaro. I just buy parts for the monte as they come along for great deals. the gears are killing me right now, 3.08 posi with 28" tires.
I'm a biology major in college with dreams of med school, so I figiured becoming an emt would be good for experience. I work for a 911 type company so it's not just transporting dialysis patients all day. Less money but more rewarding experience
