What rear gear should I use
First I just want say this is one the best sites on the web for finding info on making you car better. Thanks to all!!
I have a 91 firebird that I just installed a 350 engine into. The engine mods are as follows. bored .040 over, flat top TRW forged pistons. .480"lift 230 duration cam, 2" tbi unit from xtreme-fi with 90# injectors, 193 heads that have been pocket ported, Headman header, 3" exhaust(no cat). I also have a 2400 stall converter. My question is what rear gear would you guys suggest for my combination? I also would be interested if anyone could speculate what ET may car would run if I get the correct gear and proper tuning? I wish I would have found this site before I built the engine. I may have chose a different cam and heads but it is to late for me now. At least maybe I can get the gear right.
This is only my second post on this page. I hope I have posted it in the right location and have not broken any rules with my questions.

Axle/Gears: 3.73; 3.42
Not knowing what trans you are using i will say:
Auto - 3.42 rear
STD - 3.55 or 3.73 depending on 5 or 6 speed and what you want you final cruising rpm to be.
Don't forget to match the convertor to the cam if the trans is automatic.

Thanks for all the info. I have a 700r4 tanny with a 2400 stall converter. As far as crusing speeds I would like to be able to still drive on the interstate. Mainly because I have to take the interstate to get to the track. The main goal for the car is a weekend driver that I can take to the track and go bractet racing without being to Embarrassed. Thanks Again.
