I have an 85 Camaro with a BorgWarner rear housing assembly. It currently has a 3.27 gear ratio, but I would like to upgrade it to a 4.10. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, where one could find the 4.10 ring gear and pinion?

 

Yes.... Next time you could probably find results faster by using the

www.9bolt.com has various gears he gets them over time. I think he even offers some 4.56 and higher ratios too.

Randy's Ring And Pinion is where I got my 3.73 at... but that's the only ratio they carry. http://www.ring-pinion.com/

There's also other places too.

 

I've been on (9bolt.com) before, but all they seem to have are used parts. Was wanting something new, along with an installaion kit and possibly bearings. Also, I have run numerous searches, but the highest gear ratio found so far is a 3.70:1.

IIRC 9bolt.com was manufacturing new gears for a short while, but I think he has gotten away from that.
Most likely the 3.70's are all you will be able to find.

 

Thanks for your response. Believe your comment about not finding a 4.10 for a 9 bolt is probably true. I've searched numerous sites on the internet, but cannot find anyone who supplies this ring and pinion gear ratio. Again, thanks for your help.
