CONE!...shaped, front pinion bearing??

ok so i went and bought the new front pinion seal and bearings..but to my surprise the dude from kragan auto parts said" the computer said there were two kinds of bearings one was cone shaped.and the other was not ..the one that is not sone shaped cost like $39 and the one that is cone shaped was only $17

Any friggin way i bought the cheaper one hoping its gonna work ,.where im at right now i wont have access to another ride to go back and exchange it for the right one??

so my question is ,.,.are the cone shaped ones the ones i need?? and why would the store computer say "Or" when it showed the difference between the two?? is it because there made by different companys or wha??

thanks for all in advance for all the feed back!!

If I had to guess I'd say one was for the 10 bolt and one was for the 9 bolt.

The 10 bolt was the standard 7.5" or 7.625" rear available in all years, the 9 bolt was the 7.75" upgrade available in some years. Nothing is interchangeable between the two. They're easily identified by the number of bolts in the cover.

IIRC, the 10 bolt uses a tapered bearing.
