Tranny mount problems

I have a 2000 Firebird, 3.8l 5-speed
My transmission mount has worn out 3 times in the past 2 months. I have replaced it 3 times now with Anchor transmission mounts from auto-zone. I'm really tired of changing this stupid thing. Is there a performance mount I should get? Or is there something else causing it to wear prematurly? What signs do I look for?

Thanks

Energy Suspension Polyurethane Tranny Mount, you can buy them off the shelf at autozone and they are 23 bucks or something like that....they don't break and can sustain heavy acceleration, when I pulled out the stock one which was also bad for about 2 months I tore it in half with my hands, it was really bad shape...

Polyurethane is the best bang for the buck though....

Same for me - Went thru three stock mounts before I went with the same. Dont go with the poly motor mounts though, very uncomfortable. Most here have gone with rubber motor and poly tranny and have done well...

I asked at autozone and they said there wasn't a urethane one made for the v-6 and after a search online I concluded the same. Any other options?

A friend told me that I need to use same material bushings in motor mounts and transmission mounts otherwise all the power stacks up on the less powerful one and breaks it, ie. If I use rubber motor mounts I have to use rubber tranny mount too.

The two different materials issue probably would come up if Torque/Horsepower were pretty high but at your setup, and from my experience with my setup, it wont be a problem.

I've heard of packing motor mounts with RTV or 3M Window Weld to strengthen them up. Would this also work for trans mounts?
I can see it working on motor mounts because they are always in compression (clam shell style). The tranny mount, however, gets worn out from spikes in tension. i.e. lots of torque when you nail it from a standstill.
Any comments?
