B&M Megashifter
Ok i have a megashifter in my car. It has been a wile since i have acturaly looked at it. Is there any way i can modify it so when i pull the lever i can go from park/or reverse to 1st. I dont like goin down to D and then 2 then 1. The main reason i am asking is i am planing on puting a manual valvebody in the trans and it dosent seem like the trans would like going into 3rd first sitting still

When you do the manual valve body, install a reverse pattern unit that way what used to be third will now be first and you will pull back instead of pushing forward for each following shift.. Make sense?

i don't think there is a way without modifying the gates yourself
it's designed to do that to prevent mis-shifts and what not

Going from third to neutral is a good way to grenade your transmission espically a th400. At the end of the run you should be leaving your car in third until you can slow it enough to downshift. If you are really serious about a consistant drag car you should probably get rid of the p.o.s. megashifter and get a quarter stick, cheetah, or bandit. they are much more accurate and reliable.
I have the Mega shifter and the revers manual valve body and my car will actully free wheel when I shift it through second and first to neutral. So it does not hurt it any. I dont know if they are all like that but thats my experience with them.
