I'm guessing it's the rear end

Hoping someone has some idea of what's happening w/ my 92 305 tbi rs. Every time I turn, (doesn't matter which way), while in motion, when I give it gas, I hear the engine rev but it feels like its not accelerating. When I get straight again it's like it catches and startes accelerating. I have about 89k miles on it and everything is pretty much stock and original.

pretty vague idea of whats going on with your car but, it sounds like the torque converter is probably slipping like crazy.

not trying to make you sound ignorant or anything but, are you sure you weren't spinning the inside tire *had to ask*.

Tellya the truth i know absolutely nothing about trannys pretty much but, that's what would come to my mind. I was just trying to keep the thread alive so someone who knows something could possibly help you.

Ha, no that is a valid question. I'm positive I wasn't spinning the tires because it happens when I start from like a stop light (not burning out just driving normal) and make a turn. It's usually at real low speeds like maybe 10-15 mph just enough to turn and accellerate to normal speed. During the turn I hear the engine rpm's go up but it's like I'm not increasing speed until I get straight. And I don't hear any crazy noises or anything its like it catches smooth and I start accellerating again. I tried to test it out the other day and gave it some gas during the turn and the engine really revved but I didn't feel any more accelleration. I'm stumped but it doesn't really take much to stump me. Thanks for the help guys.

yah either the clutches are getting real worn torque converter is shot or you need fluid (i'd add some fluid if your at all low can't hurt anything).

Cool thanks, come to think about it, I haven't checked the tranny fluid in awhile guess I'll get on that. Its great to have somewhere I can go to talk to people who obviously know more than me.

maybe if you dont have a lot of fluid, it doesnt get to the right places when the car is tilting. the fluid would be piling(sp?) into the side and not staying the middle. im not much of a trans guy either but it just crossed my mind.

I've serviced my trans. a couple of times and found the filter had dropped down the first time I did it. The seal that presses up into the valve body had got brittle and fallen down as far as it could into the pan and wasn't sealing good at all. That could be your problem especially if it's low on fluid.
