Long 1-2 shift

Ok , before I put the tranny in my Iroc I went through with a freshen up of the tranny. New clutches and steels, new Kevlar band, Corvette servo, 13 vane pump kit. When the tranny is cold it takes along time to shift from 1-2 and it isnt firm. Other shifts are very quick when your WOT but feel firm. would a shift improver kit make the shifting better or would a shift kit be needed?

It might be something internal, but since it's easy to do, did you install/adjust your TV cable correctly?

The TV cable is an "absolute" and it must be adjusted so that WOT the TV cable is tight or with a 1/16" plat at most. Yes, the
modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit will help.

What would happen if I dont hook up the TV cable. I like how I can just floor it and not have it kick down.

And what do you mean by a modified shift kit, do you sell one?

700r4 ?

Tv cable required

however i have driven a third gen camaro with 700r4 and the cable not connected- unknowingly

i bought the car that way

what it would do is it would act alot like a shift kit

it would wind up high in each gear and crash hard into the next one

if you drove it easy then it was even worse

you had to drive it hard to keep it from jerking the car so hard every shift, when it finally did shift

its a big no-no

bad for the tranny

really really bad

good luck

The modified Trans-Go Perormance Shift kit allows for smooth 1-2 part throttle shifts, and firm WOT shifts. You cannot eliminate kick down with out going to a full manual forward pattern setup from Trans-Go. Yes, I carry these.
