whats the worst things with these "slush boxes" i have herd great things about them and i love mine cause theres something in it that makes it do a second gear scratch and its outrageus, sometimes its a second gear burn out, there is no shift kit in it, just raw power.

raw 305 power

j/k

Weaknesses are 3-4 pack, sunshell and the lockup clutch as you start to make good hp/tq.

I have a 91 700r4 core sitting on my porch that was in an S10 with a 4.3, sun shell is completely seperated. My opinion is the main problem with there reliability is line pressure inconsistancy, if built and set right they're decent. One of the main complaints about these trans is that there's a big drop from first to second gear.

yes theres a huge drop from 1-2 because they first gear so tall.gm did that to make up for lack of power in the cars, not for racing.your bettoer off with a 200r4,its got a lower first gear so the drop is not as drastic and the overdrive is a tad smaller than the 700 so youll slow the rpms down even more.and yes they can be built to handle hp

Yes it certainly was! Only the speedo gear "may" have survived.
