TH350 change over Bracket - B&M users come in.

I have the B&M bracket, but I only have the section that bolts to the tailshaft iwth the torque arm mount on it.

Does anyone have detailed pics of the part that extends the tranny mount to the stock location?

Does anyone know the best solution to the problem.
Im open to all suggestions.

Are there other crossmembers ('82 200r4) that will meet the th350 trans mount location? I have never installed a tranny before so I do not know how things line up.

I would be willing to custom fab the extention peice if I can get measurements and some pics.

it's like 4 inches by 6 inches and 1/8" steel thick has a bend in it as well to raise the trans a bit. don't have any pics presently though.

If you get a TH350 with a 9" tail shaft it will be the right length.

I have this trans crossmember from a 700r4 v6 car. I am using the th350. Is this crossmember the same as a 700r4 v8 car for a 92? I also have this poly trans mount in the pic, the bolt doesnt fit through the crossmember, is it normal to have to widen it?

Has anyone ever used a 200c 1982 tranny crossmember in a newer 700r4 car like my 92 with a th350? What is supposed to make that bracket line up correctly with the th350 mount point, does it bolt in the same holes?

the 200c bracket will work with a TH350. Otherwise you need a V8 bracket and the B&M conversion for it.

So you are saying that the crossmember I have is not the same as a v8 bracket. If so, whats the difference?

Blackroc, the crossmember doesn't bolt to the tailshaft does it? Just wondering, it's about 3 years since I installed a TH-350. I bought the Hurst kit last week but haven't even started my engine/tranny swap yet. I thought sure everbody says to use the short tail.

My car is a 1986 Iroc Z that originally had a 305 and 700R4 in it. When I swapped to the TH350 I used a 9 inch tailshaft one and the B&M kit and it worked out for me.

I don't know about the v6 cars or the onese that had the 2004r's in them.

Blackroc, how did you handle the kickdown cable? I read in this forum that it was not needed, that you could manually downshift. Would you have to do convert the valve body for manual shifting? I noticed TCI's Super Pro rebuild kit has a manual/auto kit with it, but was wondering if it's necessary. Seems like the more I read on this conversion the more confused I get.

You can use the kickdown cable on the TH350 tranny. It is not a TV cable like the 700R4's have. It is just a kickdown cable. I don't use one as my car is mostly a track car.

The kickdown cable is the lower cable in this pic.

you need a 82-83 crossmember from a 200c car,and the kickdown cable does not need to be hooked up, the tranny mount that i used was for the year of tranny, i did this on my 82 ta back in 92,
