cooling lines wont stop leaking
just installed a B&M 700R4 in my 87 camaro. bolted up the old cooling lines but they are leaking from in between the tube and the bolt, NOT from the thread side. i tried to reflare but didnt work. ended up getting new lines that were already pre flared with new fittings.... those too leaked. then tried opening up the flare more, also putting in fittings with o rings in them and still leaking.. anyone have any ideas?

wrong size lines? otherwise are you using teflon tape on the threaded fittings either?

yep, tried the tape as well as thread sealer. im thinkin it could be the type of flare...? the dealership discontinued the lines, so i went to auto zone and picked up 5/16 line with a 1/2 inch fitting. everything seemed to match up right. o and another thing.. i put a B&M holeshot torque converter in there as well.. when i put the trans up in the car there was like a 1/4 of a inch gap between the converter and the flexplate and once bolted up the converter would leak from the shaft. i put washers on there to close the gap but have enough thread on the converter to hold. is this a go or no go?. lol.

Did you check to make sure the seats arent screwed up? If you've tried various lines and flares and they all didnt seal, it's got to be the seat, right?

yyyeah.. it was diffrent size fittings that i needed. i guess the same size fittings from the old lines were not correct for the new one. so far this B&M transmission gets an A+ for performance. nice quick solid shifts. ok thanks guys for everything agian, its time to go take it for a spin.
