t56 clutchs

anyone that has done a t56 swap into a 3rd gen i want to here what clutches are good. i'm using a centerforce flywheel and was curious if i could use a newer oem style clutch with the centerforce flywheel or do i have to go aftermarket?

does the oem stlye clutchs good or do they wear too fast?

T-56 uses a different flywheel then the t-5. As for the clutches I wouldn't recommend a Spec clutch unless it's there stage 4, best to do a search on camaroz28.com for something like this.

you can interchange flywheels and clutches right. like use a centerforce flywheel with a mcleod clutch. as long as it's the right application correct?

Yes, you can use different flywheels and clutches, but make sure the clutch and pressure plate are the same manufacturer. McLeod is a good choice of clutch.
Part# 261871 for the disc
Part# 360822 for the pressure plate.

These are for an LT1 T56.

I have the McLeod on my setup and it is a little stiff but other than it is great. As long as it is broken in properly, you won't have problem.

True, my first clutch (SPEC stage 3) when took apart with 10k drivin on it had a missing spring that fell out when I opened the bell housing. After doing some research I found that SPEC has recently upped the quality level of their clutches, and their new ones are nothing like the old ones. This shows because my old one was a #$%@! pain to break in, and when I replaced it with one of the new SPEC stage 3's, it felt like it was already broken in at mile #1! Another reason I like the SPEC clutches is the price. There's pretty much no other clutch rated at the same hp for the same amount of $. BTW, my car is driven about %75 highway, %20 city, and about %5 on the track.
I bought a stage 3 about a week ago. The price isn't bad and the performance is suposed to be there. I should have everything installed by next weekend and I will be sure to report how everything pans out.

since clutches can become a little expensive does anyone know how good a replacement oem clutch made by Valeo holds up. is it not worth buying or is it safe to buy for car that's not even pushing 275 hp?

Thats what I have in my car, I went with their optional heavy duty model, and so far its ok, no better or worse than the OEM one that I had before it, If your planning on hitting the track or doing alot of power shifting, I wouldnt waste the money on this it wont hold up for long at all.

does anyone know if you can use a dual friction centerforce clutch on a 2 RMS engine that uses the centerforce flywheel part #700107?
if anyone has used this setup how is it working?
