holding power of 3-4 clutch pack
has anyone had good or bad experience with upgrading to the 9 disc alto brown 3-4 cluth pack. how much power will it take? Is the 8 disc powerpack red eagle, with the kolene steels really that good? Just looking for any experiance with these to help guide my choice. I have the 9 brown alto set right now but debateing on weather or not to put it in, or get a different set.

More than likely, the 9 disk kit will only allow 8 clutches in the drum. I have used them in my car and Brutalforms formula. My car probably makes 400 hp and 475 ft lbs, Brutalforms dynoed 500 hp and 600 torque. This while fouling the plugs due to a terrible tune up. Knowing what I know now, I probably should not have used them in Brutal's car. I would keep it under 400 hp if I were you. If making more power than that, you could install a 6 disc blue plate kit. Brutal's car has not torn them up....yet.

is the blue plate one the raybestoes blue? which one is in brutals car now? I've got about 520 hp. right now I have the alto powerpack. It has 9 frictions and 10 steels, a new snap ring and backing plate. I've just heard that the thin steels won't hold up very well over 400 hp. and to go with the red eagle powerpack which has 8 frictions and 9 full thickness steels that are kolene.
