Transsion change question
I own an 85 Trans am equipped with a T-5. Since i cant find a T-5, i want to change to an Auto. What kind of electrical problems might i run into going to an Auto from a T-5? It has a computer in it so i think it had a computer controlled carb. I just want to make sure i dont have to rewire for the new tranny. Thanks.

So you want to change from a manual to an auto...sorry to inject my own biased opinion, but have you ever thought that driving a manual might be a little more enjoyable than the auto? Personal preference though, you make your own decision.
As far as wiring is concerned, there is only one wiring connector to be concerned with in the 700R4. It looks like you have one car with a 700 now, so you can go look at the driver's side of the trans and see the 3 pin connector that controls the torque converter lockup function. This page LINK explains it pretty well without giving a diagram. There was a nice diagram on the boards here, but it seems the search function isn't working now, so no help there.
I'm not sure if the ECM in the car will work with an automatic, but I know you could make your own switch pretty easily.
