Pivot Ball/Stud Adjustment

I haven't figured out how to search yet, so here goes the question.

How do I adjust the Pivot Ball/Stud on my lakewood scattersheild?

It's an adjustable stud, and I'm not sure what I'm going for with it.

With a mechanical clutch I know you should have able 1/4" between the TO Bearing and the fingers, but with a hydraulic the TO rides the fingers always.

Help?

Thanks
-Paul
