Are you talking about the TV Valve? Or the 4th gear valve on the other side of the valve body?
I got my TV valve from a guy who custom made it at work on a lathe, so that it wouldn't downshift from 4th into 3rd untill 95% throttle.
As for wanting the full throttle upshift into OD, you will want the "B-Car Fix" I have the part # somewere. It was $20.00 at the GM parts counter. I have heard pros and cons on it because some one would install it and it wouldn't shift into OD for them. However, I believe this may have been from the combination of a 2.73 gear, and not enough power to get to the shift point (depending on the vehicle, 4500 to 5500 rpm maybe). With a 2.73 gear 4500 rpm would be around 115-125 mph in a 3rd gen, 5500 would be between 140 and 150 mph. With a stock tbi 305 or a stock LG-4 you are probably not going to get up to that speed in order for the tranny to shift into OD on its own.
My TA has a 3.73 gear and a carbed 355, will it shift into OD at WOT? Maybe, but I am not done with the car yet and have not tried it. Don't think I will either.
