Doing a engine/trans swap. The donor car was an 87 GTA 5.7 with a recent trans swap that is a 700R4 or possibly a 4L60E of an unknown year. The car receiving the transplant is a 88 GTA that had a 5.0L and 700R4. The VSS sensors are different. The donor trans has an output speed sensor that I believe is a four-pulse (4000 pulses) sensor. The host car had a gear driven VSS that had a black gear (40 tooth I believe). The wire connectors are slightly different, both are two pin connectors but they are not the same. I no longer have the donor car -sold it as a roller on TGO- so...

Can I just change the two pin connector and leave everything else the same?

The other choice would be to swap the two VSS sensors and use the gear driven sensor (black gear) and connect the wire.

How will all this affect the ECM and VSS parameters?

I guess I'm being a little hopefull but I don't feel like pulling the tailshaft housing and changing things.
