i am just curious about which tranny is better. i was just wondering what the positives and negatives of each one are. What do you guys think. My brother has a mustang 5.0 and he really isnt sure what to get. He has a post on a mustang forum but no one has given him an answer. Any thoughts or comments on which one would be better would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

t-56 > t-5 in strength, smoothness of shifts, etc. It costs more, the clutches are about 3 times the price, and the swap is a little bit more involved because of the pull style clutch. If you plan on building an engine in the future I would say to go with the T-56.

Get the "T-5 retrofit" T56 and you don't have to worry about any of this.
