Car is slow and won't downshift!

The car in question is a 90 350 Iroc. Launching the car off the line, the tires don't spin, and it takes off slow until about 2500 RPMs. Now if you floor the car while cruising, it does not downshift, it just slowly climbs in RPM, and then picks up a little bit in the higher RPMs and shifts normally. The trans was rebuild recently, and the TV cable appears to be hooked up correctly. Anyone have any ideas?

sounds like it is a tv adjustemt issue. Try moving it in a little bit at a time and see if that helps. If not, then put the adjustment back and we can move on to another idea.

If it's not the TV cable.. you may want to check your governer.

This post I made a while back tells you where the governer is.. you don't have to pull the tranny..

Problem solved, the tv cable needed adjusting and the timing was way off.
