The other day my transmission was working fine and i pulled my car up a gave the car a bath. I got back in it put it reverse and then reverse worked fine but drive wouldnt go. So I changed the filter and fiuld and it still want go it move about a inch to day in drive but thats all. Reverse works great. can some one help me please I cant find one cheap. I found one from one of my friends but it says metric on the pan and its shaped like texas.
Will this transmission work it out a lot of hassle. I also get the driveshaft with it.Its of of a 305 v8 ho motor out of a monte carlo.

It's quite possible your tranny took a dump. go to this website and tell me what the pan looks like. Transmission Identification & Decoding

If its stamped "Metric" its probably a th-200, which is a 3 speed automatic no overdrive. The driveshaft is likely to be the wrong size (too short), but it depends on the car.
What happens when you put the gear selector in 2 or 1?
You can try revving the motor up to about 2000-2500 rpms to increase the line pressure, If the TV cable came out your spewing tranny fluid everywhere, Its also possible that the tranny cooler managed to get plugged or kinked.
other than that its rebuild time!

Line pressure is most likely the culprit. Rebuilding is probably not necessary but you will need to open up the valve body.
Make sure the gaskets are good (...a bad gasket can cause cross-flow and a piece of broken gasket can get lodged in the valve body all leading to improper line pressure...), the cables are hooked up, all the valves move freely, all the springs are in tack, and any c-clips are still in place (...such as the boost valve...).

There is a tap on the driver's side of the transmission and you will need a guage that hooks up to this tap.
