700-r4 tailshaft onto TH350
I just scored a rebuilt TH350 for $125. THe guys wife got pregnate, so yea...That's how it works for some.
Anyways, I looked around for a 82-84 44" driveshaft, but to no avail. Can I just swap the tail shaft off my 700r4 onto the TH350, and use my 94 Camaro V6 alluminum drive shaft with my 10bolt rear?

no, the output shafts are different, and so are the tail housings.
the only thing the same is the spline count and the seal and bushing.
you would have to completely disassemble both trannys to get the shafts out anyway...but no, they won't interchange

Why has everyone said it wouldnt work??The yoke dosent have to slide all the way till the yoke ears are right up to the end does it?
which was actually NOT a long tail, because those are about 12" long and your 700 is about 6.
I really am not sure what he is talking about, except for the housing. the SHAFTS are different. which is what you said-- tailSHAFT.
I was answering your question.
I, personally have not tried to swap the housings, but I suppose it would work, the o-rings are the same, the bushings are the same and the driveshaft yokes are the same, I suppose if the housings are the same length then it would work. I don't currently have any short tail 350's around to check if the 700 housing fits, but when I get one, I will check.
