Were 84 V8 T-5's mounted straight up?

I thought all thirdgens were tilted at that wacky 15* or whatever angle it was.

Reason I ask is I just bought this complete trans from a guy who said it was from a '84 Firebird, and I want it to be in my '84 Z28 HO, but this guy pulled it from a 60's Chevelle so it has the older style 'straight up' bellhousing on it, but this bellhousing also has provisions for a hydraulic slave like our thirdgens.

My '87 is tilted, and I do have another 87 bellhousing, but I don't want to drop this box in with the wrong bellhousing so I'd rather make sure...

I have an 84 H.O. with a t-5...mine is tilted.....if it was removed from a 60's Chevelle then it had to be modified with a different bell housing......
Good luck,
Mike

Thanks Mike I appreciate it man, I just wanted to make sure!

I'd hate to put the tilted (thirdgen) one on it to find out I was wrong later

If it's a NWC T5 he could have installed a straight up tailhousing on it and used a GM bell which had hydraulic provisions (there are a few of them.) Tough to tell without pics.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Sounds like the guy used the BH from an El Camino with a 4-speed. It's different from the BH out of one of these cars.
