th350 & lockup converters
Ok, this is a question about an 81 vette, but a th350 in general.
Friend has an 81 vette, going to go to non CC stuff. Going to remove the computer. The computer is said to "control" lockup. Its said that to keepo the lockup feature after removing the computer, he has to run a manual lockup switch.
In the thirdgens, the computer simply provides +12v to one of the terminals on the pigtail in the tranny which in 4th gear activates a solenoid to lockup the converter. If you remove the computer, you just have to give it +12v feed (that breaks when the breaks are applied)
Is that not the same for the vette with a th350? How does the computer control lockup on a th350 then? It's a vacuum modulated setup is it not?
