87 700R4 in a 91 Z28
I recently bought a 1991 Z28 that somone had swapped a TH350 in place of the factory 700R4. The TH350 is slipping bad. I have a 700R4 that came out of a 1987 Trans Am that I would like to put in the Z28. What kind of issues if any will I run in to?

as long as it was a v-8, you shouldn't have any issues. direct bolt in replacement as far as the tranny goes. the driveshaft length may be different and the cross member might have to be moved back depending on what method the previous owner used to install the th350.

I have a replacement driveshaft from a 98 LS1. The Trans Am donor car had a 5.7 TPI and the 91 Z28 has a 5.7 TPI. The 700R4 probably needs rebuilding it has been sitting a while (close to 2 years) and the donor car had 160,000 on the odometer with no documentation if the tranny has ever been rebuilt. I know the TH350 would be cheaper to rebuild but this is going to be a daily driver and I need the overdrive for gas mileage.

well, in that case, you might have to move the crossmember if it was moved to accomodate the th350. everything else should be pretty straight forward.
