93 700r4 swap into 87 iroc, any swap tips welcome.
Hi, I am putting a 93 lt1 trans-am700r4, into my 87 iroc-z with an L98. I have already removed the tail shaft housing, and installed my 87 irocz's mechanical drive assembly with my gear I need in the 93 trans.
What I need help with is making sense of the 5 wire round connection on the 93 trans am, I need to convert my 87's to the 5 wire harness. I believe 1-2 of the wires is for the trans temp sender for the computer idiot sender.
If Anyone has done this swap, let me know I am going to put the trans in tonight, so let me know, thanks, Keith.

Hi, thanks for some info.
Well the problem is that the 93 trans, has a 5 pin connector, I have 3 on the iroc, which pins go where?
the iroc has a purple, tan/black, and a green wire,
the 93 t/as wires are:white,green/white,tan/black, light green and green/black. Which of these wires should I switch with the irocs wires?, which ones do I remove from the 93 700? Thanks Keith

hi keith... only three of them are used in the 4 pin. Heres is a pic of mine. just pull yours from the 4 pin and install them the way mine is in the 5 pin connector. these are my factory wires from my 90. if you have the same color wires you should be all set. i think you can get one of those pin tools from your local auto store. makes it alot easier to swap them might be able to use a small screw driver.

you may have to swap out a valve for the convertor clutch to work right. not sure though, mine was all setup for the 82-92. And works great..if you have a problem with the convertor not locking then thats why. again im not sure i didnt fully understand the instructions myself. Maybe someone else who has done the swap can chime in on that. it maybe just for the non computer cars.
