im getting ready to pull the trans out of my car to get it rebuilt. while i do that i would like to put a stall converter in that would compliment my engine. when i get on it the car pulls pretty hard starting at 2500-2700 rpm. here is the list:

-rebuilt L98 350 lower end (out of 1988 GTA)
-Camshaft, Hydraulic Roller Tappet, Advertised Duration 296/300, Lift .539/.548 (edl-2204)
-full Edelbrock TES exhaust
-Cylinder Heads, Edelbrock Performer, Aluminum, 60cc Chamber, 165cc Intake Runner, 2.02 int 1.60 ex (EDL-60859)
-mallory fuel pres reg
-HV oil pump w/ oil cooler
-accel dist and coil
-2 pass trans cooler
-roller cam gear drive set

the torque converter i was looking at was a 9'' Converter, 2800-3000 Stall(jegs # 555-60422)
-4130 chrome moly turbine hub with 4 oil slots.
-Torrington bearings
-Furnace brazed turbine and hub
-Heavy-duty roller clutch
-Screw-on pilot for stock depth included. See converter pilots for mid plate applications.
-Utilizes 3/8'' converter to flexplate bolts
-retains lock up feature

any suggestions on this? and should i get a bigger cooler for a higher stall?
thanks for your help

the link is for everyone who keeps saying the car wont run

vig, or coan for a 700R4 trans are some of the best, but they're $800 on up. fora cheaper stall go with a TCI, I have one in my camaro. For a TH350, your options are basically the same, but the converters are much much cheaper.

More stall with your set up. Nice engine shot BTW. Also you might want to look into Edge Racing Converters. Call and talk to Andre. I got a 9" 3400 stall lockup for like $550.00 shipped. Good product. IMO.

Like your typical high stall car. Slips a bit, but totally acceptable, for me anyways. Once the converter locks up, its like its not even a high stall anymore. One thing I've been meaning to do however, is drop the MPH setting for lockup in the eprom. One word of advice: add a transcooler. I bought the largest B&M, and installed it up front, with -6 braided trans cooler lines. This simplifies removing, and reinstalling the trans, as compared to "hard" lines.

Just a FYI, I too checked out the Jegs converters, and when I found out they were made by TCI, I passed.
