Did that have a crush sleeve or a solid spacer in it?

Im no expert by any means but looking at your gear wear it looked normal. so im guessing this is a result of your pinion walking up your ring gear. you must used a crush sleeve correct?

yes, i used a crush sleeve...should have used a solid one, but you know...hindsight is 20/20...the wear on the gears looked great, you could probably clean the edges of the ring gear up and re-use it...well, maybe not, but the ring gear does still *appear* to be in good shape.

Hey if your lookin at gettn another set of gears the last set I bought I found a company that warrantied them, yes WARRANTIED THEM. I told them that I would break them and they ensured me that it was no problem. Their moto was " Break them, Burn them up, Install them wrong, Their warrantied" Broke them 10 passes later and it took some time to get them but I got them.

When set up properly the ring and pinion are not usually the weak link in the rear end.

when you have a crush sleeve instead of a solid pinion spacer, and there is flex in the case, it doesn't matter how you set them up, you're gonna break something. they had great wear pattern on them and never made a sound...

3rd gen + stick tires with low psi + 3500-4000 rpm launches = weak link.

the gears themselves aren't the problem, but they're what usually breaks. As stated, crush sleeve + case flex = slack in the pattern which eventually = POP
