confused!!
need help here
i have a carbureted 350 in a '89 camaro with a 700r4
my time slips have been 13.6 - 14.0 consistently
i just installed a 4.11 gears and i'm slower, 13.96 - 14.3!!!
what gives??
I'm thinking my tranny is shifting too soon and not letting me run in the powerband... that's all i can think of.

Could be your wheels spinning.
Low shift points could cause it.
Car makes no power up top to utilize those gears.
Whats your 60 foots, your cam and stall, what heads , etc?

confused
i have m/t drag radials and my 60 ft's are 1.94 & 1.93 consistently
stock heads with holley contender dual plane and edelbrock 600 cfm vs
stall is 2300 - 2500 corvette type converter
cam specs are unknown, its a crower that is better suited for carbs is all i know
it also has shorty hedman headers, mallory cd ignition, built 700r4, competition engineering lca's
i have a single plane weiand intake i can install, maybe that will help with the top end, i'm considering having the governor on the tranny adjusted for the 4.11's
im also going to install a holley 750 vs and hope to get into the low 13's
thanks for your input!!

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
stock heads
Sounds like your new gears have forced your motor beyond its power band.

i thought that too at first, but the motor pulled all the way through
to the finish line and never activated the rev limiter, nor my shift light.
i have the rev limiter set at 6,000rpms and the shift light at 5,500rpms.
i think the weights in the tranny governor are shifting the tranny too soon because the 4.11's are spinning the tranny faster than the 3.23's did, so change the weights in the governor, install the single plane to move the rpm band up and go racin!! (God I love this stuff!!)
