MORE t-56 questions..

I dont think this one has been covered yet.. I got my t-56 on the ground (got it from a friend) and I can go through all the gears (1 through 6) fine BUT I cant get it into reverse. Two things come to mind.. either..

- the trans has to be bolted up to the engine.......... or (reverse is all the way to the right and up)... right???

- this is NOT t-56.

Wire up the reverse lockout solenoid, or remove it altogether.

have someone hold it tight for you and put some muscle into it. there is a lockout solenoid that can be easily overpowered. mine is in an engine stand and i can do it, but it was much harder to check reverse when in was on the floor. search on the forums about work arounds for reverse lockout, most people wire a momentary switch to unlock it for shifting and some put a switch on the brake. others leave it unhooked and just give a little hell to shift into reverse. it is computer controlled by the pcm in the cars it came in.
