TCC and TV
I have a 92 RS with a 700R4 and a modified 305. We put an intake and carb on it and striped the computer out, changed ignition system and distributor. My problem is that I can't get the TV cable adjusted properly because the throttle cable and TV cable bracket is diffrent on a carb than the TBI, also with the computer out Im not positive but I think the torque conveter isnt locking up. If anyone has any info it would be extremely helpful. I have had this problem for months and have been trying to figure it out.

What kind of carb did you install?? The type of carb can dictate the potential TV cable geometry fixes available... As to the torque converter lockup issue, there are a few ways to wire it up.. Search around the boards for some info on some of these configurations..

w/ thirdgen88Do not drive the car without the correct bracket and TV cable geometry. 700-R4s rely on those more than just the kickdown passing gear, they control fluid pressure. If it's to tight or to loose it's easy to junk out a good transmission.

It,s an edelbrock carb, I actually ordered the "correct" bracket that yearone had in their book for 82-92 camaro, it was for edelbrock carbs throttle/kickdown cable bracket, then installed it and still didnt work right, so I took it to a transmission guy to work on it, when he was done he said it still didnt shift right but he did the best he could without ordering anything else. I can drive and it wont shift untill 4 grand or so, unless when I get to 1500 or above I can let off the gas completly and it will shift and then I accelerate in that gear doing the same thing to go to the next.
